1. You have to pay a fee (which varies according to the size of your claim) up front to the Court to issue your claim and to get your judgment.

  2. A further fee (currently £50) is needed to issue the High Court writ which gives us authority to act.

  3. We do not charge you to transfer your County Court judgment to the High Court for enforcement whether

    • you just send us the judgment on its own
    • or you do the first stage for us, getting the N293A stamped by the court that gave the judgment.
  4. If we recover the whole of your judgment debt it will cost you nothing as our fees and charges will be paid by the defendant and you also get £101.75 execution costs (which covers your court fee) and interest at 8%.

  5. The worst case scenario is that the debt cannot be recovered. In that case we will first come back to you to make sure you don't have any information which might help.

  6. If there isn't any, we will send you a report explaining in detail why we have been unsuccessful this time and make suggestions as to alternative forms of recovery if those are possible. For this we charge the nationally agreed rate of £60.00 + VAT.

So, with the High Court writ fee of £50.00 you have already paid, this exercise has cost you £120.50 inc VAT.
  7. If we only recover part of your judgment debt (for example because the defendant goes bust half way through) we will deduct fees and charges pro-rata to the amount recovered and paid by the defendant, so if, for example, we recover half your money we get half our fees & charges.

  8. Our fees and charges are fixed by government regulation (Civil Procedure Rules 1998, High Court Enforcement Officers Regulations 2004, to be boringly precise!)
